1986 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce

The Series 3 Alfa Romeo Spider doesn't get as much love as it's earlier or later counterparts, it seems, but it is just as important in the marque's history. This is the car that kept the company going in terms of US sales in the 1980s. With the imminent return of Alfa Romeo to the US market, the manufacturer is acutely aware of the Spider's popularity on this side of the Atlantic, as they plan to bring a new generation Spider to these shores. This low mileage Spider Veloce is a nice way to enjoy al fresco Alfa motoring in the meantime.

40,131 original miles, this car has been garage kept and rarely driven for the last 15 years, and has been run weekly. It is ready for the show circuit or as a daily driver and needs nothing. The body is flawless, the engine is mechanically sound, and the top is like new! You must see in person to appreciate how like-new this car truly is! Power windows were a rare feature for this year, and the leather interior feels like sinking into the home-recliner. Contact me with any questions. While this is a very nice low mile car, it is still 26 years old, so it is AS-is where is.

White cars are in vogue these days; as such, this hue adds a bit of contemporary flair to an otherwise classic design. Spiders of this vintage with lower mileage can bring anywhere between $8,000 to $12,000 these days, with the very best reaching beyond that range. While this car has low mileage, these roadsters need exercise, so any potential buyer should make sure things such as belts, hoses and tires haven't suffered any degradation along with being mindful of the usual mechanical items that may be compromised due to age rather than mileage.

1974 Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV

The Alfa 2000 GTV (GT Veloce) was the successor to the 1750.  With subtle styling changes, the 2000 GTV is still unmistakably from the house of Bertone. The 2000 GTV featured a 1.9L DOHC engine with mechanical fuel injection that produced 150 hp. Popular in racing circles, these cars continued Alfas racing heritage through the 70’s.

This well-kept example for sale in Scottsdale, AZ is a shining example of why the '70s alfas are so iconic. The red over black interior is pure italian sports car.

Here is a gorgeous 1974 Alfa Romeo GTV 2000 that looks absolutely gorgeous and runs beautifully!!! This Alfa is finished in a beautiful Red over a black interior, sitting on a great looking set of factory wheels. This great piece of Italian motoring history has been owned and driven its entire life in California!!! The car runs great and the classic 2000cc twin cam four cylinder has been lovingly looked after and comes with TONS of receipts and maintenance records. This car has been the subject of an on going restoration since 2004 and has been driven sparingly since. The car runs fantastic and has that great classic Italian car sound. The cars exterior looks excellent with a beautiful paint job and very nice chrome. The black interior is in excellent condition and the seats are quite comfortable. The car is in excellent shape inside and out. Best of all this is a documented California Car with a RUST FREE undercarriage. These Alfas are great modes of transportation and were ahead of their time when new, from the twin cam 4 cylinder engine to the 5 speed gear box. These cars were fantastic on the track and are still dominant in vintage racing today. This Alfa Romeo is a great collector's item, that is surely to appreciate in value over the years. This car is a great driving car and is lots of fun to drive on a nice spring day.

Admittedly, I'm not an Italian car guy, sure I pine over Ferraris, Lambos, and a Lancia here and there, but have nevre really followed the other Italian Marques. Since fellow contributor Paul has been posting here, I've been introduced to a wider array of these cars, and have grown to appreciate them, and this beautiful 2000 GTV is no exception.

Average retail on the 1974 2000 GTV is just north of $28,000, and considering the range of vehicles out there this example is well above average. This car is a great example of a solid driver condition car, and at a Buy it Now prive of $24,750, this would make a great addition to any collection.

1994 Alfa Romeo Spider Commemorative Edition

In 1993, Alfa Romeo wound down production of the long lived Spider, with some of the remaining inventory being sold as 1994 models. Before parting ways with the US market in 1995, Alfa Romeo sold 190 Spiders in 1994 badged as a CE, or Commemorative Edition. The differences between a regular Spider and CE were minor, limited to burlwood interior trim, special badging front and rear, gold trimmed emblems on the alloy wheel centers and an owners kit comprised of a leather portfolio, numbered keychain, and documentation. Also, a plaque was affixed to the dashboard denoting the number in the CE series you were driving. This was a rather inexpensive way to celebrate the end of almost thirty years of Spiders, beginning with the Duetto in 1966. This CE Spider for sale outside of Philadelphia has a reasonable 51,000 miles on the clock.

This classic Italian roadster has only 51k miles. If you are familiar with these cars, you will know that they were a very successful model for Alfa, originally offered in 1966, this 1994 C.E. model is represents the pinnacle of this platform. Bosch motronic engine management, burlwood trim, dash plaque, unique leather/suede seating surfaces. This is a nice clean car, current PA state inspection, well maintained, came from a true collector/enthusiast. He is moving some cars around in his collection (30+) and this is being made available.

Although it is not pictured, the factory supplied hard top is included with the sale. Aftermarket stereo system/speakers looks to be of high quality and installation, however the head unit does not currently power on. Could be something simple, we have not looked into it. Have all keys, manuals (Including the C.E. packet) and many service records.

Given the limited difference between a Spider Veloce and a CE, there is not a lot of variance in value between the two models. The most important aspect of a 1994 Spiders is that these are the final Spiders to have been sold new stateside. Clean Spiders with under 50,000 miles can bring between $15,000 to $20,000 on a good day. This example comes with service records and appears straight and clean. The only detractor for me is the aftermarket stereo, which is inoperable. Provided the mechanicals are sorted and there are no hidden issues, one could expect this Spider to bring somewhere between $14,000 to $16,000.

1983 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce

Current statistics show that Americans are hanging onto their cars longer; about six years or 27% longer before the recession according to Polk. It has me wondering, with increased reliability of newer vehicles, just how long can you keep a car going these days? Apparently very long if you can squeeze almost 230,000 miles out of an Alfa Romeo Spider. Normally we wouldn't feature a car with such high mileage on CICFS, but this Spider is a study in preservation, having benefitted from a repaint, replaced engine block and revived interior.

I've always had a weakness for Aqua blue, as it compliments the delicate lines of the Spider and reminds one of being near the ocean, which is the natural habitat for such a roadster. This car has had attention in all the right places. While it has a few dings and scratches and a little bit of surface rust in the trunk, I'm a fan of this car. The patina works well and it's heartening to see such a vehicle used as intended while being well maintained.

1974 Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV

As Alfa Romeo entered the 1970s, the venerable Giulia chassis saw an upgrade in the form of the 2000 Berlina and GT Veloce, or more commonly known as the GTV. The 2000 series was the replacement for the 1750 and featured a 2.0 liter twin cam four cylinder engine equipped with SPICA fuel injection for the US and Canadian markets. These coupes would be superseded by the Alfetta GT, GTV and GTV6, but those models have not been as collectible as examples such as this 1974 GTV for sale in California.

Beautiful 1974 Alfa Romeo GTV 2000 in LeMans Blue/Brown Interior, has been a California car since new. The original blue California license plates are intact and in beautiful condition. This Alfa is 100% accident free. Judging by its overall condition, it was very well cared for by its two previous owners. The Alfa looks and drives great with out any issues. This Alfa had one repaint in 1990 with its original color (348 azzuro LeMans) the paint looks very good and shines. Please note its 22 years old paint job does show minor wear. The interior is all original and in amazing condition. This Alfa has 130k miles. Engine and transmission were rebuilt 27k miles ago. This Alfa needs nothing but a fun driver. The new owner of this beautiful GTV will receive with the car, clean and clear California title service records and some new and used parts.

This two owner GTV is well sorted and is the kind of classic you can use without guilt of affecting its value. At around $22,000, this represents good value for a Giulia GTV, as mint condition originals and highly restored examples have been reaching in the high $30,000 to low $40,000 range on average. This shade of blue is also a welcome change from the more common red, silver and green so often seen on these coupes. One also can't overlook the vintage California license plates. They are a great finishing touch.

1991 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce

The final iteration of the original Alfa Romeo Spider bowed in 1990 and was introduced in the North American market for 1991. This was to be the final rear wheel drive Alfa Romeo until the introduction of the 8C Competizione in 2008. A number of changes were brought about for this final iteration of a classic, including Bosch Motronic fuel injection, a drivers side airbag and all new front and rear fascias that incorporated the look of the Alfa Romeo 164's tail lights.

Marketed in the US until 1994 (and all 1994 Spiders were built in 1993), this was to be one of Alfa Romeo's last vehicles sold stateside until the 8C Competizione would appear 14 years later at Ferrari/Maserati dealerships. Even though they are getting on twenty years old, good, clean Spiders are fairly easy to come by, with some ultra low mileage examples on offer from time to time.

This particular Spider is in good nick, has a full history and is the higher spec Veloce model, which included leather seats, 15" alloy wheels, air conditioning and a cloth top fitted as standard. With a little bit over 48,000 miles, this car splits the middle nicely between show quality piece and higher mileage driver.

1991 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce

This is a beautiful Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce; an excellent example of the 4th and final version in classic Red with Tan leather. It was originally sold in Beverly Hills, stayed in Los Angeles until 2005, and brought to Seattle after the previous owner scoured the West Coast for a like new Alfa. Now I brought it back to Southern California. Included are the complete factory handbooks, receipts and a notebook with literature, maintenance records, California smog reports, Alfa Spider information, and a clean CarFax history report. Alfa Romeo made their last updates for 1991: driver airbag, new tail, new integrated bumpers, air conditioning, full leather seats, leather wrapped steering wheel, 15inch light alloy wheels, 120 hp 2.0 liter engine, Alpine stereo, power Antenna, power windows and power mirrors.

Condition: Absolutely beautiful condition in every way: interior looks like new, exterior is equally excellent, engine is extremely clean and everything is well maintained. A/C blows cold. All original maintenance receipts are included. I would not hesitate to drive this car crosscountry, or enter into a car show.

The asking price of $13,900 is about in the middle of the range of what I've come across in terms of Spider values as of late. For a car with low mileage in this condition, it is certainly a nice price for a usable, everyday classic. It is a little pricier and a bit more boulevard cruiser than a Mazda Miata of the same year, but in classic red, a car like this reminds me why I love Italian sports cars so much.
