1967 Iso Grifo 7.0

Renzo Rivolta, the engineer behind Iso, got his start by manufacturing refrigerators in 1939. Hence the name Iso, deriving from the name "Isothermos." Eventually the company moved onto motorcycle and scooter production, followed by microcars such as the Isetta, which was licensed by BMW. With the help from Giotto Bizzarrini, Rivolta went about creating his first attempt at a sports cars, powered by a 327 cubic inch V8 from the Chevrolet Corvette. Called the Rivolta, this car was achingly beautiful, having been designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro during his stint at Bertone.

The follow on to the Rivolta was the Grifo, built on a modified Rivolta chassis and powered by the same small block Chevrolet engine. Later on in the production run, the small block engine gave way to the big block Chevrolet 454 engine. With a fastback body and engine pushed rearward into the cabin, this car has a much more hunkered down versus the Rivolta, which was more of a luxury coupe. For sale in New York, this Grifo comes with an interesting history and a few modern updates.

1967 Iso Grifo 7.0

Ruby Red with Tan leather interior, 5 miles since restorations, ZF 5-speed transmission and air conditioning. This 7.0 Liter Grifo, “The Ennezeta” is believed to be the last Grifo remaining on the assembly line when the factory closed in 1974. It is well known in Iso Owner’s Club circles. It was completed sometime thereafter by a well known fabrication firm, Ennezeta, established by several former Iso employees. The car was VIN number (223225). Beyond the unique history, the car incorporates several distinct characteristics from other Grifos, these include a lower profile hood than big-block Grifo’s and lower valance panels including rear brake cooling ducts. Combined with the vibrant color set off by the brushed aluminum trim, the car has tremendous presence. The car was honored most recently as part of Quail Lodge’s 50 Anniversary commemoration of Iso automobiles.

The car is well known to Autosport Designs where the car was purchased in 2003 by its present owner. The present owner undertook a number of upgrades completed by Autosport Designs to make it well suited for long distance touring. These included the addition of a stereo and trunk-mounted CD changer with the controller discretely placed in the ashtray and rear speakers placed in leather trimmed enclosures beneath the rear parcel shelf, electronic ignition and a Richmond six speed transmission. The original ZF 5-speed is included with the car. Price: $265,000.

This Grifo is in good shape, but I'm not exactly certain why the seller has this advertised as a 1967. This car is being described as one of the last Grifos to emerge from the factory, in addition to having the later big block engine. I'm guessing this is probably a 1974 model, given that was the last year of Grifo production. However, with the earlier front end styling, it could be an earlier production model with later updates. Whatever this car might be, there are questions that need to be answered.

The market for Grifos ranges roughly from $150,000 to $250,000. Given the unique history of this car, I'm surprised the owner made so many modifications, even if it makes the car more drivable. At least the original ZF transmission is included. It's not surprising the asking price is well over $200,000, but whether an exotic with an obscure badge will command the asking price remains to be seen.

1984 Lamborghini Jalpa

When people think of Lamborghini, they remember the greats such as the Miura, Countach and Diablo. Along with the early grand touring coupes and off-road LM002, there was the Jalpa, a derivative of the mid-engined V8 Urraco of the 1970s. A limited number of these sports cars were produced in an effort to bring Lamborghini ownership to a wider audience. This Jalpa for sale in New Orleans has under 20,000 miles on the clock and is for auction at no reserve.

1984 Lamborghini Jalpa with Targa top and rear wing. This is one of an estimated 50 Jalpa's remaining. Only about 400 were ever built, and that was nearly three decades ago. I think this car is potential museum quality car with the original paint being in near perfect condition. There are no dents or scratches in the paint, nor have there been. The interior is all original and is supple with no cracks or tears.

The engine is a brand new rebuild from the leading Lamborghini Jalpa expert, at a cost of over $25,000.00. New clutch, and braided lines. Four two barrel carburetors. New powdercoated axles, stainless exhaust system, polished aluminum water tank and fuel filter and too much else to list. All new MSD electronics from ignition to alternator. All original wheels and brakes, with new coil over shocks from Italy. This is a California car, with no rust. Only driven 657 gentle miles a year since new (18,409 mi).

This is a rare opportunity to own a true piece of Lamborghini history in authentic original condition. There are approximately ten times more Countach than Jalpa's left in the world. Countach have now been listed for over $200,000.00 US and going up. There were 338 Miura's produced, which are similar production numbers to the Jalpa. They have been listed at over $1,000,000.00 US. Of the few left, this is by far the nicest Jalpa I have seen, and is offered here at a mere pittance of expected value.

Even though the Jalpa is just as rare as the Miura, the desirability isn't as high. That's not to say that the Jalpa is a bad car. It's just that the Miura was that good. The Jalpa represents the cheapest way into a Lamborghini short of a Pontiac Fiero based kit car, with prices starting in the low $30,000 range and sometimes reaching into $40,000 territory. These cars have a good bit of 1980s cool about them with their rear spoiler and flared bodywork.

As a Philadelphian, it would be remiss if I didn't mention the appearance the Jalpa made in Rocky IV, replete with the "You've Got a Friend in Pennsylvania" license plates that technically, were not grammatically incorrect but overly verbose:

1974 Alfa Romeo GTV 2000

The Alfa Romeo GTV 2000 was the ultimate expression of the type 105, succeeding the GTV 1750 in 1971. These are some of the most handsome coupes that Alfa Romeo has ever produced. Not a flamboyant design, but so utterly tasteful that to this day, they still look fresh. This 1974 GTV 2000 for sale in Texas is a tasty little number, with Panasport wheels that compliment the clean, silver bodywork.

These days, a good GTV 2000 will bring around $25,000 to $30,000 on average, and this well kept example shouldn't be too far out of that range. These cars make great practical classics, as a well sorted one can be reliable enough for regular use while offering up enough performance to keep up with modern day traffic.

1967 Fiat Dino Coupe Project Car

We don't feature a lot of project cars here on CICFS, but this Fiat Dino Coupe is worth featuring for many reasons. First and foremost, this car is a fantastic amalgam of Bertone styling with Ferrari power. These cars were the result of Ferrari wanting to homologate their V6 engine for Formula 2 racing, so that adds a nice backstory to the Dino Coupe. For sale in Texas, this car is in need of someone willing to finish what has already been started.

1967 Fiat Dino Series I Project Car. CHASSIS NO: 135AC0001348. The Fiat Dino is a true collaboration between Fiat and Ferrari. The exotic front-engined, rear-drive sports car began production in 1966, and allowed Fiat to present a wonderful halo car, and Ferrari to ramp up six-cylinder engine production. It was an intermediate step towards creating Ferrari's legendary "Dino" and the two are often confused. The Fiat Dino allowed Ferrari to achieve the necessary production numbers to homologate Alfredo Ferrari's (better known by his nickname of "Dino") V6 engine for Formula 2 racing. The Fiat Dino Spider was introduced at Turin Motor Show 1966 and Coupe version one year later at the Geneva Motorshow.

This beautiful Fiat Dino has just received a complete body refinish, with new paint, brightwork and powder coated unibody components. In addition, the wheels are freshly restored with new tires. The car is very complete, with engine, transmission and rear-end as well as the original interior. This is a project with much of the work done and merits completion.

A good example of a Dino Coupe can exceed $40,000, so for those with the time and energy to complete this project, this car would be a worthwhile investment considering the price. These are under appreciated exotics built in small numbers that deserve to be preserved. The heavy lifting has been done with this one and it needs but a careful hand to bring it back to its former glory.

1973 Alfa Romeo GTV 2000

The Alfa Romeo type 105 is a perennial favorite of Alfisti. This coupe's handsome Bertone lines and rorty twin cam engine made for a very attractive, rear-drive motoring experience. The 2000 was the final iteration of these beloved coupes. This 1973 GTV 2000 was imported from Italy ten years ago and has racked up a couple of first place awards at car shows.

This is an original 1973 Alfa Romeo GTV 2000, purchased in Florence Italy in 2002. Car was in storage for 21 years in original owners garage. I purchased it from the second owner which had just recently purchased it but had to sell it due to his upcoming wedding and needed the money. As you can see in the pictures the European model has a few different option than the north American version. It comes with dellorto twin carbs, higher performance exhaust manifold, no side lights on the side body in the rear of the car and small round side lights in the front rather than the rectangular front and back on the N. A. version. Lighter weight doors, pivoting front lights (small lever located under the main lights that allow them to pivot up and down to compensate for when you have extra weigh in the back seats. All the instruments are in Italian writing.

The car is all original, never any accident, no rust with original air conditioning (very rare in Italy), everything works on the car. The second owner installed a pull out radio with electric antenna and made a new back tray to install the rear speakers, I have the original tray untouched without any holes for speakers. When I got the car I decided to rebuild the engine due to it being in stored for so many years. Engine was running fine when I purchased it in Florence. I changed all the gaskets, install high compression pistons 10.41, light weight flywheel & electronic distributor and coil.

I also installed performance springs and shocks, Koni in the front belstein in the rear, also polyurethane suspension bushing, cross- drilled brake rotors, stebro stainless steel exhaust great sound. I have all the original parts that come with car. Paint is in great shape very minor chips and scratches. Original owner's manual in Italian, plus also a second one in English writing showing all the specs for the euro model. Car comes with the original period after market Peronal 5 star mags (this is the same company that supplied the steering wheels for Alfa Romeo) and almost new 205/60R14 tires , also yellow fog lights (white ones also included).

Car ran great and runs even better with the upgrades, great acceleration and very smooth with a great sound, rarely listen to the radio when driving. The car won First place in the Alfa Romeo Owners Club 2004 National Convention in Manchester New Hampshire in the 105/115 coupes category and 1st place at the 2004 Tutto Italiano in Brookline Mass. in the Alfa Romeo category. Unfortunately I rarely use the car, last long trip was in 2004 and I need the storage, very sad to see it go. Needs a great home to some one that will appreciate it and enjoy it.

Also comes with the car is the original owner's manual in Italian writing along with a second manual (english version) for the same euro spec car. Car has NO rust as first mentioned and has never been patched up due to rust issues, I have never driven it in the rain.

Pervinca Blue is a color not often seen on the GTV and I think it looks fantastic, with a bit more depth to it than your typical metallic blue. With the important mechanical bits addressed, I would suspect this GTV will fetch somewhere in the low to high $20,000 range, which is where many of these coupes are trading hands these days. Given this is a European market car, it might even bring a bit more to the right buyer.

1974 Alfa Romeo Montreal

As costly and as risky a business proposition as they may seem at the time of development, halo cars have a way of building up a brand and creating a mystique that often trickles down to other products in the range. Alfa Romeo hasn't been one of those cars in need of such a thing, as most of their cars over the years have been impressive in their own right. Still, this hasn't stopped them from trying. We all are familiar with the recent 8C Competizione, that shares a lot of Ferrari DNA but relies on carbon fiber intensive construction. Back in the 1970s, their flagship was the Montreal, which had a 2.5 liter, dry sump, fuel injected V8 derived from the 33 Stradale. With a body by Bertone, this car was instantly recognizable with features like the cabin vents on the C pillar and partially covered head lamps. This Montreal for sale in The Netherlands is in an uncommon shade of Metallic Gold that is rather correct for the period.

I would never dare giving a car I own a "pristine" qualification, but accoording to the experts "exeptional" is appropriate! So inquire, visit and see for yourself! In 2004 the Spica fuel injection pump has been restored to an "as new" condition by Wes Ingram (USA). Since the car is in my possession (2003) all maintenance has been performed by Alfa specialist Berfelo Italian Car Service Dutch "APK" (road safety / MOT) until 17 September 2014.

Sale includes a brand new set (of four) 7Jx15 (for -not included- 205/60 tyres) forged aluminium wheels specially made by Compomotive UK for Group4Wheels.

At about $50,000 USD, this Montreal is near the top of the range of what these exotics are bringing these days. It is still common to find good examples in the high $30,000 to mid $40,000 range. These coupes are revered by Alfisti today, even with their foibles like the SPICA fuel injection system, which has been sorted in this car. Like the Maserati Mexico featured on Saturday, this car is an ideal choice for those seeking to take the road less traveled when it comes to Italian exotica.

1972 Lamborghini Espada 400GT

Some cars are timeless in their appearance. Others, such as the Lamborghini Espada, shout what specific era they hail from. With brown metallic paint highlighting its hunkered down Bertone lines, this car screams the seventies. Not counting the off-road LM002, this V12 powered grand touring machine was the last four seater that Lamborghini produced on a mass scale. This Espada for sale in Ohio is an all original example that has seen but two owners over its 40 years on the road.

The Espada, along with the Urraco and later Jalpa, are some of the most affordable Lamborghinis you can buy today. At almost $60,000, I would say the seller is being a bit optimistic. Only the very best Espadas will bring that kind of cash. With a fog lamp that is being held together with electrical tape and an undercarriage that appears a bit scruffy, well, I'm not so sure this is one of them. Originality aside, as it sits, this might be a $40,000 to $45,000 car.

1969 Lamborghini Miura P400S

Another Miura has surfaced for sale this week. This one is the same model and year as the P400S we featured a little over a week ago. While not as dramatic in silver, this example for sale in California has had a recent engine rebuild and comes with an interesting history.

Chassis 4039 is a standard production, normal P400S (Miura S) built and sold in both production and model year, 1969. It is one of only 338 similar examples built and the 357th sequential Miura out of a total production run of just 763 examples of all three versions (P400, S & SV.). The initial order for the car was internal (not assigned to a particular client) and the car completed under Job or Sequence no. 357 on April 17th, 1969. The car remains in the original delivery color combination of Argento Metalico (light metallic silver) and standard black interior. The original engine which remains with this particular example to day is No. 30357.

The car is listed by Lamborghini records as destination Torino and the car was in fact delivered new and sold by LAMBERAUTO an official agent in Torino:

LAMBERAUTO remains an active dealer to this day under the direction of Sig. Messori Riccardo and their showroom remains near the city center business district on the left bank of the Po river. They were at the time a prominent dealer and official servicing agent for Lamborghinis but primarily noted today for the service work as well as being an official FORD service center.

Peter Coltrin photographed the car at the Turin Motor Show later in 1969 and in and around the Parco Cavalieri di Vittori Veneto for an unpublished magazine article. The photos remain today in the Peter Coltrin Collection and as far as as currently known have not ever been published. This Miura had been registered to the current owner for the past twelve years in Tokyo, Japan until a sale and purchase by our company last week. Japanese registry records provided two additional clues on this Miura's earlier history prior to our purchase. The year of first registration in Japan was "SHOWA 54, Year of the Sheep" which translates to 1979!

The car was first registered for the road in June of 1979. It was registered to the last Japanese owner in January of 2000; "HEISEI 12, Year of the Dragon." The car had original Italian ownership documents that were surrendered to obtain Japanese import and registration documents in early 1979 and the car is believed to have been flown rather than shipped by ocean as departure city was Milan to Tokyo rather than Genoa to Tokyo. While Genoa had a decent size airport, Milan as a departure city is usually and indicator of a flight.

The first and possibly only Italian owner's name and contact details are still missing. The other two Japanese owners are both known. It would appear at this time that Miura S, s/n 4039 has had only three owner's from new and remains one of the least known, seen or discussed examples to come to market in some time.

Miura S, s/n 4039 is a fully "matching numbers" example with no rust or accident history, coupled with an ultra-short chain of ownership and careful care and maintenance by each previous owner. It is an ultra-original example with a recent rebuild and break-in time only on the engine and gearbox. Additional research continues regarding this Miura's early history and possible use during the 1969 Turin Motor Show.

The last Miura we featured was up for sale at $650,000. This particular car undercuts that figure by just a bit, but is still solidly in the heart of where Miura values currently lie. If someone could confirm that this was the Turin Motor Show car, that would certainly add a bit of appeal for collectors.

1987 Bertone X1/9

The X1/9 could be considered as Fiat's last gasp in the US marketplace until their revival in 2012 with the 500. While Fiat itself left the US marketplace in 1982, the job of marketing and selling the X1/9 fell to its designer, Bertone. This X1/9 for sale in California represents the final year for these mid-engined sports cars. It has been stored for many years and has been sorted, ready for a new owner to take the helm.

The Bertone (Fiat) X1/9 for sale here is arguably one of, if not the finest available examples as it has only been driven 12,500 miles and just as importantly it has been fully sorted after sitting as in new condition for over 20 years. The previous seller tells me that due to Fiat leaving the USA, this car remained in storage until 2007 in a port near Houston, Texas. It is available in Pleasanton, California for $10,000 OBO

The X1/9 underwent three generations in the USA: 1974 cars, 1975-78 cars and 1979-87 cars. This one is in like new, mint condition, having been scrupulously maintained by an enthusiastic and meticulous owner since it was rescued. This last iteration of the X1/9 features the bigger 1500cc engine and 5 speed transmissions making it far better to drive in modern traffic. Creature comforts, such as power windows and A/C make it a surprisingly pleasurable touring vehicle as well as as an impressive sports car on the back roads.

The X1/9 succeeded a 1969 show concept car called the Autobianchi A112 Runabout, with styling by Bertone under chief designer Marcello Gandini. The interior is amazingly clean, with an attractive 3-spoke leather wheel and a very clean dash. We think the black color is more aggressive looking and ages better than the tan. The car has never had a spot of rust, and his is truly turn-key. An upgrade stereo is the only non-original component, and the original documentation history and literature are included.

This one represents an interesting opportunity for the Concorso and car museum guys, but we’d put it on the road for an enjoyable couple thousand miles per year under great care. That way it would still only have 27k miles after a decade, and would likely still be one of the lowest mileage examples around even though you would thoroughly enjoy the ownership experience for years to come.

I've seen a few low mileage X1/9s surface in the past six months, so we're not looking at an extremely rare car, but it is nicely presented and rust free. That's important on a car such as this which is highly susceptible to the tin worm. With no reserve on this tidy X1/9, we're probably looking at a $10,000 to $12,000 final bid.

1969 Lamborghini Miura S

Each time a Lamborghini Miura comes up for sale, serious collectors take note. Only 764 of these landmark supercars were ever made and they are highly prized. This particular Miura for sale is a California car for sale in Maine and is an S model, which had engine enhancements good for another 20 horsepower, bringing the total output to 370 horsepower. A few luxuries were added such as power windows, a bit of chrome trim and increased luggage space. In Fly yellow, this bull is certainly arresting.

1969 Lamborghini Miura S (#3874). Meticulously restored to exacting standards. Upgraded to SV specification, with numerous Bob Wallace upgrades.

Built as Production Order number 304, this early P400S was built on January 22, 1969 and delivered new in Europe. Its known ownership dates to the 1974-1975 period when it was bought by George Cocalas in Long Beach, California afterwhich it was acquired by Joseph Koenig (also of Long Beach) in 1978. Owned by the reknowned exotic car collector and enthusiast Oliver Kuttner of Charlottesville, NC starting in 1979, it was subsequently acquired by film producer/collector Randy Simon in 1988. Shown at the New York Auto Show in 1991 it was later sold by Symbolic Motors of La Jolla, CA in 1995 to Mr. Steve Colletti. The car was described at the time by Mr. Colletti as being "a real car---used but maintained" with a "great engine" and "pretty good chassis and interior".

An exhaustive 4 year restoration commenced in 1995 that left no bolt unturned and no surface unfreshened, a summary of which follows:

APPEARANCE - Chassis was wire wheeled to remove all paint, corrosion and filler. Repaired all cracks, bends or non-original holes. Underside coated with rock protectant and entire chassis painted in semigloss black. Front and rear bumpers, rear 'hexagon' panel, front rock screen & grills, and eyelashes all stripped, primed and repainted. Aluminum rocker panels repainted silver after removing dents and straightening. Entire body stripped to bare metal. Cracks and imperfections welded and sanded. Body straightened, metal finished. Bonnets and doors aligned with new gaskets installed and made to fit perfectly. Painted Miura Fly Yellow by Joe Montanto/JM Auto Works of Van Nuys, CA. Wheels (including 2-9" SV wheels) stripped, crack checked and repainted (silver). Headlight housings disassembled, cleaned, new Hella H4 headlights w/55/100 bulb used in the rebuilt headlamp housings. Two new rear brake/turn signal lenses with housings cleaned and repainted and Halogen lamp conversion performed. New backup light lens and 2 new side marker lights installed. New aluminum firewall clear anodized.

CHASSIS & SUSPENSION - Front chassis stiffeners from mid/late S added to the front. Front shock tower brace replaced with new, late model S type (no swiss cheese-type holes), powder coated for lasting durability. Fiberglass air deflector from late S added and frame rail opened up and boxed as is late S to deflect more air thru the radiator and toward the interior of the front brake rotors. Rear powerpack support brackets had been previously repaired due to cracking. Repair welds smoothed out, crack checked and powder coated. Found to be still unsatisfactory so new brackets fabricated by Beauchamp Fabrication of Santa Ana, CA. New motor mounts and engine support bushings installed. All suspension pieces (Front/Rear A-arms and uprights, sway bar links, spindles, stub axles, steering arms and steering rack) crack checked (magnaflux steel and dye-penetrant aluminum) at Hadd-Co Inspection of Torrance, CA (an FAA and aerospace Level-II/III approved company) and black cadmium plated or powder coated. Springs sent out for testing and refinished. Shocks rebuilt by KONI. Rear spindle/stub axles converted to CV-joint type. New Sway-away 4341 axles. Low drag high RPM boots. Links to tie rear suspension lower arms together fitted (work done by Bob Wallace). New suspension bushings, new inner and outer bearings and seals for rear hubs. New ball joints. New boots and tie-rod assemblies (links and clamps cadmium-plated) for rebuilt steering rack. New mounts where ball-joints press in. New bushings for sway bars. Suspension bolts, washers, and shims black cadmium plated for appearance and durability.

BRAKES - Late S vented disks fitted using Porterfield race rotors (Billet Aluminum hats and directionally vaned rotors). Rotors were cross-drilled and 12-points super-nuts/bolts (Aerospace 220,000 psi nuts and bolts) were milled down to the correct length. Rotors were black cadmium plated, hats were hard anodized black. Factory steel spacers were used between the calipers to get the correct clearance for the vented rotors. Porterfield Carbon/Kevlar brake pads used. Master cylinder rebuilt by Stainless Steel Brake Corporation. Calipers rebuilt (all new pistons) and black cadmium plated. New hard lines fabricated. New braided stainless brake lines w/ stainless steel AN bulkhead adapters and nuts.

ENGINE - Rebored to 82.5mm (.5mm overbore-3977cc), Custom JAE pistons and rings. All new valves, seats, seals, guides (everything but valve springs which tested ok). New exhaust camshafts. Crankshaft checked and reworked to add thrust back in. Timing chain gears lightened to extend life and reliability of cam chains. Sump split. All work by Bob Wallace. System-1 35 micron steel mesh fuel filter, Holley fuel pressure regulator (set at 2.8 psi per Bob Wallace). Aluminum fuel rails fabricated that eliminate the hose between float bowls on each carburetor. BB512 distributor with magnetic pickup converted to work with MSD7AL box and MSD Master Blaster II coil. Tachometer converted to 12 cylinder single-impulse VDO drive. Spun aluminum radiused velocity stacks made (stock height+diameter). 1" taller K&N air filters. All new aluminum air cleaner housings manufactured. (Restored original air boxes with K&N air filters go with the car). Water pump and oil pump overhauled. Starter checked (had been overhauled), new solenoid and seals installed. New heat shield in engine bay over the headers (wrinkle-black painted).

TRANSMISSION/CLUTCH - Split sump. Added limited slip differential. Updated bearings, bushings and synchros. All work done by Bob Wallace. New clutch disk. New clutch master cylinder. New clutch slave cylinder. Hydraulic hard line replaced with 1/4" hardline (AN4). Stainless steel AN bulkhead adapters and nuts (per Bob Wallace).

COOLING - Radiator recored to greater capacity. Replaced coolant tubes with new aluminum (6061-T seamless) tubes by an aerospace company, clear anodized. Bolts that clamp coolant tubes to chassis replaced with stainless and titanium nuts (super-nuts). All rubber water lines replaced with silicone hose, and stainless screw-type non-groove hose clamps used. Header tank for radiator at rear of car was duplicated in aluminum and hard-anodized black. New 12" SPAL radiator pull fans (lighter and more efficient). Rebuilt heater valve. New aluminum pipe from tank to engine made and hard-annodized.

EXHAUST - ANSA sport exhaust. Header flanges machined smooth. Jet-hot coat headers (inside and out) and exhaust (outside only per JetHot). New ANSA exhaust tips.

ELECTRICAL - New fuse block (stock and blade-type). Gauges checked, cleaned and bezels repainted. Halogenation kit installed for brake lamps. New bulbs for indicators (4 watt instead of no longer available 5 watt) and dash lamps (3 watt). Harness contacts cleaned and preserved with CAIG Labs treatment. Starter rebuilt. New, thicker wire run from starter switch to solenoid (12 gauge instead of 16 gauge) as per Bob Wallace. Alternator bench tested. Interior Lucas fan replaced with SPAL fan. New rear wiring harness made with heat and oil resistant (TFNN) wire and vinyl wire shielding, using stock wire colors. New bulbs for trunk and engine bay lamps. Headlight lifting motors disassembled, cadmium-plated and rebuilt. Power window motors disassembled, cadmium plated and rebuilt.

INTERIOR - New door stops. New headliner. New carpets. Seats, dash, center console, door panels, overhead console recovered in dark grey. Steering wheel recovered. New rear view mirror. Shift gate (aluminum) milled smooth, refinished and clear anodized. New shift boot. Shift knob refinished. Dash panel lamps replaced with new bulbs. New pedal pads. All hardware replated.

SAFETY - Original fuel tank duplicated by Fuel Safe as a Pro-line fuel cell in aluminum (powder-painted), return for fuel added to fuel cell to help eliminate possible carb fires. New 3/8" AN6 convoluted teflon fuel line run each way. Aluminum fuel rails replacing hose between float bowls on each carburetor. Eye bolts for shoulder harnesses and submarine strap added while chassis was restored/upgraded (shoulder harness bolts attach into rear frame at upper tub). Carbs vented (as per Bob Wallace) to help eliminate carb fires. Pedal assembly rebuilt. Re-bush pedal assembly, replace bushings with DU self-lubricating bushings. New thrust bushings for pedal assembly. Schroth Safety harnesses and original factory correct standard seat belts. Halogenation kit for brake lamps.

The restored and now thoroughly useable Miura S was enjoyed by Mr. Colletti until 2008 making many trips from Southern California to Monterey, appearing at various events during August there including Concourso Italiano. He then decided to sell the car and consigned the vehicle to reknowned Italian sportscar authority, Mr. Tom Shaughnessy of San Clemente, CA.

Purchased by its current owner in 2008, the Miura was brought to Francorchamps of America in Costa Mesa, CA where specialist Rod Drew went thru the car thoroughly, servicing it before it was shipped to a prominent collection on the East Coast where it now resides. The Miura comes complete with factory tools & bag, jack kit & bag, thorough records of the restoration, service records, and parts and service manuals and extensive Miura articles and memorabilia. It is ready to be shown, or driven and rallyed anywhere.

Current values for a Miura S are hovering around the $450,000 to $700,000 mark. While this car wears an older restoration, the level of detail the seller provides is impressive and reveals that little was left undone in bringing this car back to its glory. Every time I lay eyes on a Miura, I can't fathom the breadth of Marcello Gandini's imagination to come up with this automotive work of art. It's simply stunning.
