The Lancia Gamma Coupe has to be one of my favorite designs to come out of Italy in the last 40 years, hands down. With each passing year, I've been surprised that more of these large coupes haven't found their way to US shores, now that they are legal to register here. But maybe it is a testament that few survived. Sure, these cars had their faults, but I'd be more than willing to put up with them in order to get my hands on a sharp piece of Pininfarina history. This Gamma 2.5 for sale in Florida has been in the country for about one year, after the owner sourced it from Austria.

Lancia Gamma Coupe designed by Pininfarina (1982), only 87,700 original km (less then 55,000 miles). I believe the only one in the USA. Lancia Gamma is an executive car from Italian Fiat Auto's up-scale Lancia marque, a true italian GT car. Gamma coupe was introduced in 1979 and produced till 1984. Only 6790 coupes built (15,272 berlinas). When launched at the Geneva show in 1979 there were crowds around the Lancia stand. The Lancia Gamma is a FWD car with longitudinally-mounted flat four engine, producing 140HP. This has the second generation fuel injected (BOSCH L-JETRONIC), with 5-speed manual transmission.

Very few survived and even in Europe it's hard to find a nice example. I found this rust free, original car in Vienna (Austria) last summer, sitting in a garage for years, because of a blown headgaskets. After the engine rebuild she got a new, very nice paint job, using the original color. I shipped it to Florida and it has now a clear Florida title. I mentioned it was rust free car when I found it and of course there in no rust anywhere. Please see the pictures (door bottom, fender's top and bottom). Interior is nice and original (cloth seats). Floor carpet very nice and clean no signs of wear.

There are some flaws: - both door upper weather stripe (belt moldings) is a little bit out of shape. Some wear on the driver seat and 3 dirt spots.

She is a real Grand Tourismo, a cruiser, which seats 4 people comfortably. The engine is strong, clutch and transmission works fine. Body is elegant and simple lines . The Fiat stopped to produce the 130 Coupe in 1978, and the next year the Gamma Coupe is introduced. Both car were designed by Pininfarina, but the Lancia more curvaceous then the angular Fiat Coupe.

Last week on the ebay the bid on the Fiat 130 Coupe went over $24,000. You can buy this Lancia (her sister car) for a significantly less. If you like to own a very unique Italian sports car or one of Pininfarinas works of art, this your chance. There are many more Lamborghinis, Ferraris or Alfa Romeos on the road from this era, but very few Lancias. One of rarest car on the market. If you have any questions call me evening at 407-732-6120. Given the prices of Fiat 130 Coupes that have migrated stateside, I'd suspect somewhere in the range of $12,000 to $17,000 should be a reasonable estimate. With only two examples said to be in the US, this is a good price to rarity ratio right here. Sure, the flat-4 engine offers up more torque and isn't a rev happy engine, but for a unique touring coupe, the Gamma is hard to beat.

1966 Lancia Flaminia GT 2.5 3C

Lancias from the 1960s are some of my favorite Italian classics. This was the decade that the impossibly gorgeous Fulvia was released to the public. Aside from that small, attractive coupe, Lancia's flagship models were also rather visually arresting. The Flaminia was unique in that three different coupes were offered by three different coach builders, Pininfarina, Zagato, and the Touring version we see here. The Touring was by far my favorite, and had a bit of '60s Americana flair to it. This Flaminia GT 2.5 3C is for sale in Pennsylvania after undergoing an extensive refresh.

This Lancia Flaminia GT 2.5 3C Touring bodied coupe being offered is a very well sorted out example of one of the most desirable Flaminia in the model line. It is not a 100 point car, but is a very presentable survivor. The car was repainted in about 1990 and has the original interior, except for new floor mats and carpet. I have been very involved with Lancias' since my first ride in an Aurelia Convertible in 1966. Starting in the early '70s, I worked for the American Lancia Club Spares Registrar, importing and supplying parts for Lancias. After nearly ten years of doing this, I left to earn a real living and raise a family. I never left the club though and continued to own a Lancia through out that entire period. I bought my first one, a Flaminia Berlina in 1971 and have not been without at least one since.

In the early 90's I started to restore Lancia engines as a part time endeavor. I have restored 2 Fulvia, 2 Flaminia, 1 Gamma, and over a dozen Aurelia engines. I have also restored a Ferrari 250 GT engine and a couple of Fiat/Siata Otto Vu (8V) engines. Cars that I have restored the engines for have been shown at Pebble Beach, Amelia Island, Meadow Brook, Hilton Head, Elegance at Hershey, and Radnor Hunt Club. My most recent Lancia Aurelia Spider engine restoration is in a car that won 2nd place in class at the 2012 Pebble Beach Concours d'elegance.

I bought this Flaminia GT in a dismantled state. The engine had been apart and partially re-assembled. The subframe was removed and the entire suspension and steering was dismantled, down to ever last nut and bolt. Some work had been completed, primarily cleaning, sand blasting and powder coating. A small amount of the work that I am describing was performed by the previous owner, but rigorously inspected, and corrected if necessary, by myself. For instance, I discovered that the new cylinder liners had not been machined for proper protrusion above the engine deck. This prompted me to completely disassemble the engine and start from scratch. I subsequently discovered that the ring end gap was too large and that the crank shaft was not balanced to the precision that I require.

I have strived to do as an exacting renovation to this Flaminia. I have replaced any part that I found to have wear and rebuilt all of the components to the best of my ability. If you research pricing of these cars, you will see that they typically go for $65,000.00 and are in need of most, if not all of the work I have preformed. I have expended over 950 man hours on this project and spent nearly $40,000.00 on parts in addition to the machine shop charges. If you purchase the $65K car and do all of this work, you can expect to have over $175,000.00 invested. You are invited to come and inspect the car before you buy. I can pick you up at the airport.

This Flaminia is an excellent example of the better to buy one finished theory. Restoration costs will surely outrun what the car is worth. In this condition, this Flaminia should bring somewhere between $50,000 to $75,000.

1987 Alfa Romeo Milano 2.5

The Milanos are coming out of the woodwork this week here at CICFS. Yet another mint example has cropped up. This particular car for sale in California has the smaller 2.5 V6 and represents the first model year that this Alfa Romeo brought this sedan to US shores.

Offered for an appreciating new owner is this rare classic ONE-OWNER 1987 Alfa Romeo Milano 2.5! Finished in what appears to be all original black paint over grey cloth interior, this RUST-FREE classic Alfa sedan was purchased new 25 years ago right here in San Francisco and has been driven a mere 90,000 since. This is a great find for the Alfa enthusiast sporting the great-running 2.5 liter V6 engine mated to a 5 speed manual transmission, cold air conditioning, electric windows, original alloy wheels with Pirelli tires.

THE BODY AND TRIM
The body and trim of this 1987 Alfa are in VERY GOOD TO EXCELLENT CONDITION OVERALL! I would rate the 99.99% PERFECTLY RUST-FREE exterior finish of this car a solid "8" on a scale of 1-10. The black paint has a deep lustrous finish, all the trim is intact and original, the original alloy wheels are in excellent condition with deep tread on the Pirelli tires. Inside the engine bay is in excellent original condition as is the rear boot with original tool kit and factory jack and pouch.

THE INTERIOR
The interior of this little classic Alfa is in EXCELLENT ORIGINAL CONDITION overall. The grey cloth seats are in superb condition as are the crack-free dash, original carpets and doorpanels.The headliner shows some sagging, the stereo is awol, the a/c blows ice cold and ALL of the gauges, lights and blinkers work as they should.

THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE
This Milano starts, runs and drives VERY WELL! The engine is smooth and fairly powerful with a nice exhaust growl from the free revving V6 engine. The transmission shifts well and the steering is very tight and responsive. The braking is strong and straight and the suspension feels very good with no clunks or rattles. With its lively chassis and low curb weight [2,900 pounds] this Alfa is super satisfying to drive with gobs of that Italian "verve"! Note: there is some definite rear differential whine.

At just a shade under $6,000, this is a pretty good value as far as mint Milanos come. Of course, there are always strings attached and in this case, it would be the differential whine. The cause is most likely a worn thrust washer, which will involve disassembly of the gearbox. Not a job for the novice, then. Provided that job is all that needs sorting, it would prove well worth someone's time and effort to snap this Milano up, as these represent the end of an era in rear-drive Alfa Romeo sedan history.

1984 Alfa Romeo GTV6 2.5

To this day, the Alfa Romeo GTV6 is revered by the Alfisti, as it was the swan song for rear drive sports coupes from the marque until the arrival of the 8C Competizione years later. The V6 engine in these cars were hailed as one of the most sonorous units to ever turn a crankshaft. This GTV6 for sale in Connecticut was stored for 10 years, but was purchased by a new owner three years ago and has had a host of work done to it.

This is an Auction for a 1984 Alfa Romeo GTV-6. Red Exterior/Tan Interior. I purchased this vehicle 3 years ago. It had been sitting in a warehouse for about 10 years. It had 110,000 miles on the odometer and I have put on over 3000 miles of driving. Engine runs Strong. Transmission Shifts in all Gears. Speedometer/Tach/Clock/Gauges all working. -New Support Bearing and Drive Shaft Support.

-New Pirelli P6 Tires.
-New Rear Inboard Brake pads and rotors.
-New Brake Master Cyliinder.
-Added Rear Louvers, Original Aftermarket.

While this isn't the best GTV6 out there, it wears its patina well. My big concern would be the years it was stored, as these are cars that need regular exercise to stay in tune. While it has had a lot of work done, other problems may exist due to age rather than use. This is a good middle of the road car, clean enough to show along with not nice enough to drive regularly. Given that, a value of around $6,000 to $8,000 seems reasonable for one of Alfa's most memorable sports coupes.

1986 Alfa Romeo GTV6 2.5

We've featured a variety of Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTVs on the site, but none quite as exquisite and showroom fresh as this late model example with only 28,000 miles on the clock. With it's 2.5 liter V6, rear wheel drive and rear mounted gearbox, this is one of the best handling sports coupes of the 1980s and a clean example such as this is sure to grab everyone's attention at the next big Italian car meet.

I've never seen one for sale at a price this high, but I'd wager to say this is the best one I've seen in years, in a desirable color to boot. 1982 Alfa Romeo GTV6 2.5 Balocco S.E.

The Alfa Romeo GTV6 is a car noted for being one of the last Alfa Romeos to be designed before the Fiat takeover in 1986. With a 13 year production run, this rear drive coupe was a mainstay in the Alfa Romeo lineup. In 1982, the limited edition Balocco edition bowed, mainly a trim package named after the famous Alfa Romeo test track, later used by Fiat for their proving grounds. This particular Balocco has had an engine transplant, a turbocharged 3.0 V6 from a 164 sedan.

Alfa Red with black leather interior, 5-speed, two owner Texas car, correct Balocco SE trim including numbered dash emblem, original 2.5 liter V6 (with an arguably inadequate 160 horsepower and 157 lb-ft of torque) was swapped out and replaced with a 3.0 liter V6 from an Alfa 164L (an AR06412 block) and then a large turbo was added to it (likely ~270 horsepower and ~270 lb-ft of torque now) to create a true Italian tuner car, original paint, four new high performance 215 mm tires on 17-inch Serpent Autosport Type 3 five-lug 5-spoke alloys (very tasty upgrade compared to stock 15s), significantly lowered, original manual sunroof, inboard rear brakes, and De Dion rear axle, super light sports coupe at only 2,702 pounds new. Only 4,674 GTV6s were sold new in the United States over its 6 year model run (fewer than 800 per model year) of which only 350 were Balocco SEs in 1982. This is an extremely rare, desirable coupe. Price of $7,900 is flexible, but is already way below cost of engine swap plus original low mile donor car.

The turbocharger slapped onto the later V6 engine concerns me, as there is no way of telling how professional of an installation this is. The updated wheels give this GTV6 a bit of a meaner stance and the fact that it has the original paint leads me to believe it is more honest of a car than I originally had thought. It is a bit pricey at $7,900, but being the rare Balocco version, it is one of a few hundred examples produced. Provided this car is well sorted and can provide a modicum of reliability, it would certainly be a sleeper, not only with the power but the legendary rear drive Alfa chassis.

1986 Alfa Romeo GTV6 2.5

The Alfa Romeo GTV6 is one of those cars that is greater than the sum of its parts. Originating from the Alfa Romeo Alfetta GT which bowed in 1974, the GTV moniker debuted in 1978 on the 2.0 liter version of the car, which at the time, was the top engine choice. In late 1981, the GTV became the recipient of a SOHC 2.5 liter V6 taken from the Alfa Romeo 6, perhaps one of their most forgettable executive sedans. The V6 also received Bosch fuel injection in a move to solve the carburettor issues the Alfa Romeo 6 suffered.

The GTV6, as it was called, was hailed in the motoring press as a well balanced sports coupe, and it enjoyed racing successes in both the British Touring Car Championship and Australian Rally Championship. These coupes were marketed in the US and along with the Alfa Romeo 75 (Milano), they are revered by Alfisti as the last true Alfas before the Fiat takeover. I do come across quite a number of GTV6s for sale on a regular basis, but few as nice as this one for sale in Texas.

Alfa Romeo GTV6 in Excellent condition (I’ll rate it 9.9/10) Always garaged kept. No dash board cracks. The car has the original Campagnolo magnesium wheels, including the spare. It has a working rear window defroster, power windows, power door locks and power mirrors. AC needs a charge and I suspect that there is a minor leak can go through the summer with one charge. NO 2nd gear syncro. Tires have 85% left. This car is all original, except for 4 new koni Yellow shocks and an ANSA muffler. It has been lowered to Euro specs.

This GTV6 is in the rarest condition you’ll ever find never been painted or upholstered 100% rust free.
NOW for all the Alfistis out there – this is the last GTV6 to be imported into the USA. As you can tell the rear emblem says Alfa 6 2.5 – the story behind it is that Alfa run out of emblems so they used the ones from the sedan (Alfa 90). I would not sell if not for the fact that i have to many Alfas/Fiats/projects and I would rather keep my GTV6 racer.

Bidding is up past $7,000 with a few days left, not having met the reserve. The most mint examples of these Alfas usually sell in the $12,000 to $15,000 range. Taking into account the AC repair, if this could GTV6 could be had for around $10,000, it would be a solid buy for a significant piece of Alfa Romeo history.

1987 Alfa Romeo Milano 2.5 with 53,000 miles

The Alfa Romeo Milano, or 75 as it was known outside of the US market, was the end of an era. It was the last Alfa Romeo designed before the Fiat takeover, and was the last rear drive Alfa Romeo sedan to be produced. Introduced as a replacement for the Giulietta in 1985, the 75 and Milano enjoyed good sales, selling almost a quarter million units over a three year period.

Milanos are noted for their rear mounted transaxle and sonorous 2.5 and 3.0 V6 engines. Few examples survive today stateside and this particular car with a shade under 54,000 miles under its belt is certainly one of the best you could find.

All emblems glow! Side view mirrors perfect. Clutch is great. Trans shifts great. Engine bay area is showroom new! This might be the nicest Milano left in the US. A true needle in a haystack!

I don't doubt the dealer's claim that this could possibly be the nicest Milano left in the US. It certainly appears from the pictures that this car lives up to the seller's claim that it needs nothing. Also, the timing belt change at 35,000 miles is reassuring. With a few days left in the auction, bidding is strong and heading towards $10,000. A final estimate of around $7,000 to $8,000 seems reasonable, but you more than likely won't come across another Milano in this shape for some time.
