1974 Fiat 850 Carrozzeria Coriasco Truck

Here's something you don't see every day: a Fiat pickup truck. While rear engined trucks like the Volkswagen Transporter and Chevrolet Corvair Rampside are nothing new, these Fiat 850 trucks are much more rare on US shores. Built by Carrozzeria Coriasco, a coachbuilder who focused mainly on commercial applications, this 850 truck apes the VW Transporter in that it has a shallow bed and fold down side panels, uncovering storage area underneath the bed which isn't taken up by the engine. This example for sale in Arizona has had a nice cosmetic and mechanical freshening and is ready for light hauling.

1974 Fiat 850 Carrozzeria Coriasco Truck. Fresh 903 cc high compression engine. John Edwards special intake with new Empi carb. P.B.S Engineering header with turbo muffler. New base clear coat paint. New Brakes. Tires like new. Polished headlight rings with Carrello headlights. Front bumper triple plated. Original Carrozzeria Coriasco floor mats. Truck runs and drives excellent. This is perhaps the ONLY Carrozzeria Coriasco Truck in the U.S. Clear Arizona title. Reserve the right to end auction early.

This truck would be great for a small business owner looking to attract some attention or could be employed as the perfect chase vehicle for your cadre of Abarth classics. Something this rare is almost always impossible to put a value on, but if I had to take a stab, I'd say $15,000 to $20,000 would probably be a good estimate. This truck is just so quirky you can't help but love it. I mean, who would even think to put a spare tire right in the middle of the passenger compartment?

1974 Lamborghini Jarama GTS

At first, the Lamborghini Jarama appears rather pedestrian, but upon closer inspection, you start to appreciate the details of this vehicle. The exaggerated greenhouse, air ducts and long, low hood begin to suggest something more extraordinary than your average fastback. Just 328 Jaramas ever left the factory, making this one rare rare machine. This example for sale in Switzerland is a later GTS version with the 365 horsepower V12 engine and 5-speed manual gearbox.

1974 Lamborghini Jarama GTS

Beige leather with brown alcantara. Very good interior condition. Alcantara on the dashboard, new carpet.

It is hard to imagine that one would utter the world "beige" and "Lamborghini" in the same sentence, yet this two tone color combination works extremely well on this seventies design. These are awesome grand touring machines that hardly get the respect they deserve, as one can see in the $56,000 asking price. This is a lot of Lamborghini for the money and I would wager to say values will begin to creep up as people begin to recognize the significance of these cars.

1974 Maserati Bora

The 1970s were a time of upheaval at Maserati. The decade began with the automaker under Citroën's control, and ownership being handed over to Alessandro de Tomaso in 1975. Under Citroën's guidance, the company introduced it's first mid-engined vehicle, the Bora. Powered by the familiar 4.7 liter twin cam Maserati V8, this engine was mounted north/south in the chassis and produced 310 horsepower. This was the first Maserati with four-wheel independent suspension, and was an interesting car, with its stainless steel roof and adjustable brake, clutch and accelerator pedals, as the driver's seat was only height adjustable. All US market cars had an emissions equipped 4.9 liter V8. In total, 289 Boras were built with the 4.7 liter V8, 235 with the 4.9 liter engine. This example for sale in New York by way of Arizona is a low mileage original.

1974 Maserati Bora

1974 Maserati Bora Royal Blue with Tan leather interior. Car has been owned by the same elderly gentleman since 1976. 27K original miles. Extremely original Arizona car. Absolutely rust free. It has spent all its life in Arizona. Good original Bora with such a low mileage is almost impossible to find. Interior of the car looks almost brand new but its all original. For only $67,500.

Supercars from the seventies are an interesting breed, as ever tightening emissions controls and crash standards compromised these vehicles in the US market. The Bora, while down 30 horsepower from its European brethern, escaped rather unscathed, with exception of larger bumperettes. The Merak, sibling of the Bora, got a bit of a rap on Top Gear's Supercar Challenge for its unreliability and inadequate performance. With it's V8 engine, the Bora has power befitting a wedge shaped classic such as this.

1974 Alfa Romeo GTV 2000

We featured a very original, low mileage 1974 Alfa Romeo GTV 2000 last month and it seems where there is one, there are several. Here is yet another original, low mileage example that has cropped up again in, you guessed it, California.

Beautiful 1974 Alfa Romeo GTV 2000 in excellent condition. This Nero Black exterior over Brown interior has been a one owner car since new, This Alfa is 100% accident free! By its overall condition, it was very well cared for. The paint is in very nice condition, the body is in excellent shape, the Interior is in amazing condition. Mechanically this Alfa is great with only 50k original miles on the engine and transmission. This GTV needs nothing but a fun driver. All services are up to date, Everything works like it should. This GTV is in very good condition and a great driver quality vehicle. This Alfa is by no means a concourse vehicle, but shows beautiful. The new owner will receive with the car, clean and clear title, some service records and some new and used parts. Please note: inspections are more than welcome before the end of auction, at any Alfa shop of your choice.

I like this GTV better than the one featured last month because it has a little more patina and encourages potential buyers to use it as intended. However, it is still a very much show quality vehicle. The reserve is probably hovering in the $20,000 to $25,000 range, and I'd say, for the originality and presentation, anything up to the low $30,000 range wouldn't be out of the question. Overall, this is a nice, honest example of one of the best classic Alfa coupes.

1974 Lancia Fulvia S3

The Lancia Fulvia is one of my favorite Italian coupes. It's slanted grille, delicate roofline and proportions that suggest a larger car than you would think give it presence to which new cars can not hold a candle. I've always dreamed of owning one, but sadly, this V4 powered rally legend is getting more and more expensive by the minute, at least in the US market. Scour the classifieds in Europe, however, and it's another story. Here is a clean example with a repaint and original interior for sale at a reasonable price in my homeland, Portugal.

1974 Lancia Fulvia S3

Currently in a very good condition. Carefully maintained. Excellent mechanical condition. Repainted 7 years ago, remains very, very nice with no defaults. Absolutely rust free! The interior and chrome were in perfect condition and still original. This Fulvia shows all the original details. Very clean car with nice looks.

At €8,500 (~ $11,300), even including the cost of shipping stateside, this represents a good value for a well preserved Fulvia. These cars are beginning to see a rise in values and given their history and significance, will continue on an upswing as enthusiasts come to appreciate them.

1975 Ferrari Dino 308 GT4

The Ferrari Dino 308 GT4 was the first production Ferrari to feature a V8 engine, making it a very important car in the history of the marque. There has been a Ferrari with a mid-mounted V8 in the lineup ever since this model was introduced at the Paris Motor Show in 1973. Styled by Bertone, this vehicle signaled a change of direction in Ferrari’s styling language for years to come. The love it or hate it styling concealed a surprisingly practical package, with a fairly usable backseat for passengers or the proverbial golf clubs. This example for sale is an early pre catalytic converter example with the 255 horsepower version of the 3.0 V8, which turns out to be a rare package, more so than which I was aware.

Rare Opportunity to own a slice of history. I'm selling my 1975 Ferrari Dino 308 GT4 2+2, vehicle identification number 10770. After extensive research, we've determined that this is one of the last four series 1 cars produced by Ferrari and quite possibility the last one running of those four. This car drives and looks beautiful. A must have for a 308 collector or enthusiast. Don't let this one get away!

I have tried to photographically document the car as best as possible, showing hi-res close-up pictures and a video. Bare in mind, this is not a garage-queen, 100 point car, but a rare GT4 driver car, well taken care and maintained in great condition. Please take a moment to review the pictures and video below. Here's what makes the Series 1 cars different and more desirable:

Series 1 cars had 255hp with euro cams and euro timing specs.
Series 1 cars had the narrow grille with the wrap valance
Series 1 cars were standard equipped with Cromodora wheels and center caps.
A series 1 glove box opens with knob under dash, the dash front is solid leather.
The left dash panel on a series 1 GT4 had 3 switches with 3 indicator lights.
Steering rack mounts same a 246 Dino

Fixed type seatbelts on most, but some had the “reel” type

Fuse box visible inside glove box

No cats
Here's a PDF document concerning the differences: 308 Dino GT4 Overview

Now for a little specific information on this Dino. Looks like a three owner car, 50,121 miles, brought into California in 2006, bought by me in 2009. Well maintained with major service done in 2007. Everything is working on the car, including the clock, windows are fast and A/C is cold. Tires and brakes are excellent. Radiator and electrical are redone, no overheating or electrical issues. Hoses, wires and tires all new. Carburetors have been rebuilt. Interior is excellent tan leather, dash is perfect, seats are perfect. Exterior paint is very glossy and the color is a beautiful Ferrari red. Some panels have been resprayed but basically the body and paint are in very good condition considering age. Car drives beautiful and handles great, never heats up. Clutch and shifting are perfect. Just completed oil service with Mobil 1, V-Twin, Synthetic ( only oil with the correct additives for older vehicle valve guides and rings ).

I’ve never been the biggest fan of mid-engined, four seat V8 Ferraris, as the proportions can be a bit off and styling from certain angles can be a bit awkward. However, I’m impressed by the quality of this vehicle. Oftentimes, the leather interior looks tired and bodywork can be a bit dodgy on these 308 GT4s, as they are one of the cheaper ways of entry into Ferrari ownership. This car looks remarkably well kept, the tan leather appears to be in like new condition and the bodywork is quite straight. Aside from the cumbersome federally mandated bumpers, I’m coming around on these early V8 Ferraris. The asking price of almost $35,000 is strong money for a 308 GT4, but it is better to buy one complete and well sorted. These cars may be cheap to purchase in Ferrari terms, but one must always remember that maintenance can be an eye opening experience.

1974 Alfa Romeo GTV 2000

We've featured a handful of Alfa Romeo GTV coupes on CICFS as of late, however, none as nice or original as this car, currently for sale in California. This GTV is a one owner, original car with a shade over 34,000 miles on the clock. Yes, you read that right. From the factory applied cosmoline underneath to the spare tire having never touched the road, this is a time warp car if I've ever seen one.

This is a one owner from new 1974 Alfa Romeo GTV 2000, it was delivered new in Oakland California by Ken Block Alfa Romeo, 3074 Broadway, Oakland, California, It has covered just 38,629 miles from new, a truly incredible car, having never seen rain or inclement weather of any sort, the single owner was absolutely fastidious in keeping his Alfa in pristine condition

Documentation

If you like documentation then this is the car for you, he kept every piece of paper from the original sales contract, window sticker, sales brochure, even the card of the selling salesman. There is a plastic sleeve with all of the yearly registration documents including the first "drive away" permit, Xeroxed receipt for purchase and of course the Alfa Romeo owners manual plus the Service book complete with the credit card style owners identification. There are bills for service work and repairs spanning the years plus a note book annotating service work and mileage in the 80's.There are two Concours trophies from 1977 and 1978, one for first place the other second, these are carefully wrapped in tissue paper. In 1985 the chosen marque of the Monterey Historics was Alfa Romeo and members of the Alfa Romeo Club were invited to take part in the parade of cars driven on the famous circuit, each car was given a large race style sticker with a race style number which was displayed on the front hood, after the parade the sticker was removed, carefully reapplied to its backing and preserved in the file of documents, there is also a brochure for the 85 event with a pull out supplement detailing the owners club cars that took part in the parade, this is also included

Underside

As you can see from the pictures the underside is rust free and original, all of the factory applied Cosmoline is still there covering the sub frame, floors, inner arches, all panels are still in their white paint under the Cosmoline, the suspension is black, the Alfa Romeo white lettering on the shock absorbers is clearly visible and the nuts and bolts still hold their zinc plating. The drive train is clean and tidy with no visible leaks, the rear axle complete with limited slip diff is in its original alloy finish, the gearbox and motor look factory fresh. The sump is protected by the steel fence style sump guard which I am told is an option. Please note that the dealer "window sticker" is included.

Interior

A remarkably well preserved, original interior, the dashboard has no cracks, the door panels are superb, the factory carpets are fresh and black and there is no fading to any of the black finishes. The instruments are clear and bright and all of the switches and gauges work faultlessly, the center tunnel covers are without cracks or flaws and the wood paneling is perfect. There is the addition of a radio-cassette in the dashboard along with a switch under the steering column for a european style rear light. The stitching on the seats is excellent, there are no rips or tears son any of the sides or surfaces. The seat belts work as they should. The only items at fault are the gear lever shroud and the handbrake shroud, they are both torn.

Engine Bay

The motor compartment is clean and tidy, it gleams in its Alfa Romeo white surrounding the lovely twin cam 2.0 power plant, the Spica injection is complete and works flawlessly. The underside of the hood displays the correct factory stickers along with the two concours badges. The original Spica fuel Injection system is still present and works perfectly. The windshield washer bag is present along with the original radiator showing the factory paint markings on it's top surface. Inside the hood all of the original spot welds are visible, the stickers are still under the hood as you would expect.

Trunk

Simply superb, it could be two years old, the original floors are without equal, the paint is superb even in the wheel well and the spare wheel wears its original Michelin XWX tire which has never seen the road. The unused jack is there along with the correct factory toolkit

Bodywork

This car gleams from top to bottom, to say "rust-free" would be an understatement, I cannot find one single rust bubble anywhere, I believe this must be one of the finest GTV 2000s available for sale today. The spot welds are clearly visible on all panels, inside the front and rear hood, the rockers and inside the wheel arches, these are impossible to duplicate and are never seen on restored cars. The sides are flat and smooth without door dings or waves, the gaps are all perfect apart from a slight variation behind the passenger door, it looks like there may have been a dent there at some stage. I bought it from the owners son who assured me that the paint was all original apart from the front hood which had been repainted after it was scratched, this may well be but I feel certain that after forty years it must have been painted, but it's such a superb car and the finish so dazzling that its really hard to tell, I can find no sign of overspray or masking, the front and rear screens appear never to have never been out and it has the characteristic darkening of the paint where it has kissed up against the rubber. The passenger front fender has definitely had some paint below the swage line and backward of the side marker, it is a slightly different shade. The brightwork is absolutely straight and perfect, the bumpers are correct stainless steel and are razor straight, all badges are excellent, all lights clear and bright. The rear signal units were replaced for European spec. orange lenses, the originals are included in their proper Alfa Romeo parts bags, the plastic badge on the trunk was changed for an earlier enameled one, again the original is included.

With about three days left in the auction, we are past $30,000, with a buy it now price of $41,999. While most GTVs of this vintage sell anywhere from $20,000 to $35,000 depending on mileage and condition, it doesn't make the price of this impressive coupe seem unreasonable. The only problem is, of course, do you drive it, or do you continue to use it sparingly as the original owner has? These cars are meant to be driven, and given that reality, regrettably, this would not be the car for me. I'd rather have a car I could use without feeling guilty every time I left the garage. Still, there is no denying just how exceptional this car is. Kudos to the original owner for preserving one of Alfa Romeo's best coupes.

1974 Lancia Fulvia 1300 S3

We’ve covered a lot of cars on this blog which have contributed to the impressive collection of World Rally victories Lancia has amassed over the years, but the following car is where it all started. In 1972, The Fulvia Coupe won the International Championship and the famed Monte Carlo Rally after the final Alpine Renault retired due to mechanical failure. The Fulvia was praised in the motoring press as being a triumph of engineering, no doubt in part to their front-drive chassis, four wheel disc brakes and innovative V4 set at an angle in the engine bay. Here we have a 1974 example for sale with the famed red and black livery colors of the era. This car has the 1.3 “S” motor producing 92 horsepower.

1974 Lancia Fulvia 1300 S3

Upon its release in 1967, the American magazine Road & Track described the Fulvia as a precision motorcar, an engineering tour de force, mostly because of its original specifications. A front-wheel-drive car in the sports car world was pretty unusual, but not as much as the narrow 1.3 V4 engine, mounted with a 45° angle. This allowed the engine to be mounted in a very forward position, allowing for a roomier cockpit. Offered in numerous bodies, trim levels and engine powers, no Fulvia was as famous as the 1600 HF which allowed Lancia to take first place in the 1972 FIA International Championship for Manufacturers rally series. We are happy to offer for sale this exceptionally well-preserved example of Lancia Fulvia 1300 S 3 Coupe. In fully original specifications, this Fulvia Coupe S3 only has 70,000 km on the clock, which is very likely to be the original mileage given the outstanding preservation of this Fulvia. Still sporting its original Italian Targa Nera, this all original Fulvia Coupe 1300 S3 is immediately available in Italy.

THe asking price of €20,000 (~$26,000 USD) is about in line with where values of Fulvias are going these days. They are not as common or coveted as their contemporary, the Alfa Romeo GTV, but these diminutive, well proportioned coupes are beginning to claim their fair share of the limelight due to Lancia's storied rally history and the innovative engineering manufactured into them.

Here is some vintage footage from the 1972 Monte Carlo Rally, where the Fulvia 1.6 HF claimed victory:

1974 Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV

As Alfa Romeo entered the 1970s, the venerable Giulia chassis saw an upgrade in the form of the 2000 Berlina and GT Veloce, or more commonly known as the GTV. The 2000 series was the replacement for the 1750 and featured a 2.0 liter twin cam four cylinder engine equipped with SPICA fuel injection for the US and Canadian markets. These coupes would be superseded by the Alfetta GT, GTV and GTV6, but those models have not been as collectible as examples such as this 1974 GTV for sale in California.

Beautiful 1974 Alfa Romeo GTV 2000 in LeMans Blue/Brown Interior, has been a California car since new. The original blue California license plates are intact and in beautiful condition. This Alfa is 100% accident free. Judging by its overall condition, it was very well cared for by its two previous owners. The Alfa looks and drives great with out any issues. This Alfa had one repaint in 1990 with its original color (348 azzuro LeMans) the paint looks very good and shines. Please note its 22 years old paint job does show minor wear. The interior is all original and in amazing condition. This Alfa has 130k miles. Engine and transmission were rebuilt 27k miles ago. This Alfa needs nothing but a fun driver. The new owner of this beautiful GTV will receive with the car, clean and clear California title service records and some new and used parts.

This two owner GTV is well sorted and is the kind of classic you can use without guilt of affecting its value. At around $22,000, this represents good value for a Giulia GTV, as mint condition originals and highly restored examples have been reaching in the high $30,000 to low $40,000 range on average. This shade of blue is also a welcome change from the more common red, silver and green so often seen on these coupes. One also can't overlook the vintage California license plates. They are a great finishing touch.

1974 Fiat 130 Coupe

Large Fiat saloons and coupes, much like their French counterparts, have always been the vehicle of choice for people who march to the beat of a different drummer. The Fiat 130 sedan and coupe were never sold new in the US, so this is a car which is rather obscure outside enthusiast groups stateside. Nevertheless, this is an important car in Fiat history and a rather rare one at that.

The 130 coupe featured a 3.2 liter, 60 degree V6 engine designed by famed Ferrari engineer Aurelio Lampredi. Many of the coupes, like our feature vehicle, came equipped with a Borg-Warner 3 speed automatic transmission. Features such as four wheel disc brakes, four wheel independent suspension and an alternator set the tone for future Fiats to come. The number of roadworthy 130 Coupes has certainly dwindled over the years, while mint condition examples are a rare find indeed. This particular two owner car for sale in The Netherlands is a mint example of Fiat's attempt at a personal luxury coupe for the 1970s.

1974 Fiat 130 Coupe

Fiat 130 Coupe, two owners with only 146,000 km (~ 90,720 mi) from new. Swiss approval only (no tax & duty). The body is very solid, no rust and the underneath is very clean. The car drives perfectly. 20 km (12 mi) from the German border.

The asking price for this 130 coupe equates to about $16,850 USD given current exchange rates. That is a princely sum for an almost 38 year old Fiat. However, with 4,294 ever built and fewer still which have survived, this is a personal luxury coupe that can match many Ferraris, Lamborghinis and Maseratis in rarity. The 130 coupe looks amazingly modern in comparison to its sedan counterpart and exudes the tailored look we've come to expect from Pininfarina.
