1987 Fiat Panda 4x4 Sisley red front for sale USA

1987 Fiat Panda 4×4 Sisley

The Fiat Panda is a good reminder of how absurd the new car market is these days. The 4x4 variant of the Panda was an odd option, purchased by those with some sort of need for four-wheel-drive, but otherwise fairly rare. Today, it can seem as though Panda 4x4 type four-wheel-drive economy cars are the norm - think Ford EcoSport, Buick Encore etc - and that traditional economy cars are the exception.

We've mentioned before that many people find our website in search of the Panda 4x4 Sisley edition. It's basically an Italian version of the Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer edition, or the Subaru Forester L.L. Bean edition - a collaboration between an outdoor lifestyle clothing company and a vehicle with some level of outdoors or off-road potential.

We don't know much about the 999cc Fiat engine, but we are inclined to believe that it's as easy to maintain as any of the SOHC Fiat engines in other models offered in North America. The underbody photos show a great condition that is seemingly devoid of rust. An unclose inspection could highlight some problem areas, but from the photos provided, we are optimistic. Interior and exterior condition both seem to be above average for one of these as well.

We couldn't say how we would use one of these in North America. We wouldn't expose it to road salt or sea spray, and we can think of better off-roaders for serious rock crawling and mudding. Car camping in remote locations might just be the best application on these shores. European sellers are wise to the appeal of these small 4x4s, so finding a deal on one in Europe is a rare occurrence. With that in mind, the pricing on this example, which has already been relocated to North America, seems to be pretty fair.
