Alfa Romeo broke into the mainstream with its 1900 offering, which couple a unibody construction and a modern twin cam engine with modern production methods. The resulting sales propped up the brand sales enough to allow for the development of even more affordable options. The resulting car was the Giulietta series, which proved to be the most attainable Alfa Romeo to that point.

Early Giulietta fell into the 750 series, while later examples belonged to the 101 series. The transition came sometime between 1958-1959, and since we are not experts, we'll leave it at that. We can say that this 1959 model can safely be classified as a 101 car due to its small fixed window on the door, which accompanied the longer wheelbase 101 series. The 1300cc engine is also a 101 series unit, with a block-mounted fuel pump and the enlarged camshaft and crankshaft diameters that would allow for larger displacement engine variants down the road.

Offering- up my 1959 Giulietta Spider. Mostly restored, pretty much new everything. Bead- blasted to bare metal, Hi-Quality PPG Repaint in the original Celeste Blue, Leather Seats, Wilton Wood Carpets, New Stainless Bumpers, New Vinyl Top, Rebuilt mechanical s. Original type 101- 1300 Engine but not matching no.#'s. Stored indoors for years, driven around the block a few times. Title says 1960 but Vin # says 1959. Original cars are obviously worth more to collectors, and this example is unfortunately not a survivor. But, for those who like to drive their classic, a restored car such as this has its benefits. The car was reportedly bead-blasted to bare metal and repainted in its original Celeste Blue. Wilton Wool carpets, a new vinyl top, and new stainless steel bumpers round out the cosmetic upgrades, while the rebuilt mechanicals should make for a reliable vehicle. We'd ask for restoration photos and some more details on what comprised the mechanical rebuilds.

No experts of the Giulietta ourselves, we don't have an informed stance on pricing, other than to say that this car seems to be priced more than fairly. It seems that the seller is making room for a new project, especially in light of the fact that he is also selling his GTV-6, which we featured earlier today. We don't know when folks will be back on the road going about their routine lives, but when that time eventually arrives, this would be a great vehicle to make the most of it.
